Corporate Project

My first big project was to lead the IT integration of 3 multinational companies acquired by Genius Sports. Tasks included Atlassian Suite migrations, G-suite to O365 move, ERP and CRM integrations, MDM, and more.

The Challenge

Having 3 different companies acquired at the same time, we were faced with a complex integration of disparate systems, processes, and cultures across units operating in different countries. As the IT Project Manager, I had to align with all departments in the business to stage each move, lead the communication and change management, and hold accountable cross-functional divisions spread across a couple of time zones.

The Solution

Being empowered by my reporting line to be self-sufficient, I split my working day in 2 - early morning 6 to 10 AM to work with the Australia time zone, and 4 to 8 PM to cover UK and NY (I am EEST +3 based). We did the job on time, and I also had a new habit to wake up early and started working out like a navy seal.

The Struggle

When Russia invaded and we had a team of 40 Ukrainian devs in an office close to the frontline, I had to show compassion, while at the same time we had the P1 task to enroll the guys MacBooks to our MDM and prevent company data from leaking during the initial massive hacker attacks. I remember feeling torn apart after some of the calls, some guys just left the machines in the office and ran away.
