Project Eagle
Side ProjectA self-hosted portfolio and blog platform. Just wanted a self-managed space to expose my body of work - popular portfolio sites are crap. That is why I created the website you are scrolling through now.
The Stack

The Challenge
I never found the proper SAAS to seamlessly expose my work to recruiters and people curious to join me in building projects. Developers would share GitHub pages, some people will draw PowerPoint decks, but it would never be that professional if I want to stand out. That is why I combined my knowledge as Tech PM and cursor AI to build this project.
The Solution
Took me 7 days to have the initial release ready, the key to the palace was to leverage config.json and readme.md for each series of prompts to the Claude and GPT agents. This really lowered down hallucinations to a minimum. You are now viewing a website built with Next.js and Tailwind CSS, a CMS backend with Strapi, a GitLab CI/CD pipeline, and self-hosted on AWS EC2, deployed with Docker.
The Struggle
Coming from a non-developer background, I had to spend twice the tokens where each second one was an educational question - the fastest way to learn is through building. Other than that no struggle at all, just pure flow and fun.
